Wild Rags

Originating in the 1800s, wild rags were a tool cowboys and cowgirls used on the trail. When cotton and silk were too expensive or unavailable, they would use old flour sacks to keep them protected from the sun, wind, or the cold. They would even use wild rags as tourniquets, splints, hot pot holders, flags, and blindfolds.
